Geoff is a fundraising industry icon, or in the words of Non-Profit Pro, a “fundraising guru.” He has received numerous awards such as the ANA MAX Hart Award (2015), the DMAW Hall of Leaders Honoree (2014); George T. Holloway Award from the NCDC. He has served as past president of the DMAW, past board member of the AFP DC, written more than 50 articles, presented at hundreds of conferences and twice has been recognized by The Nonprofit Times as NPT Power & Influence Top 50 leader and all of that is just the tip of the iceberg!
Geoff has been President of two industry leading fundraising agencies and one international fundraising agency. He is known as a mentor to many in the sector and as an expert not only in fundraising but in success strategies for nonprofits as well as the legal regulation of and accounting rules for nonprofits.
A lawyer by training and a stalwart advocate for nonprofits and fundraising, he is a well-known expert on government regulation of nonprofits and their fundraisers in the U.S. and Europe. Geoff has gone before the US Supreme Court, the Hill, several government, and postal agencies to promote legislation that minimizes the fees and rates nonprofits must pay to ensure more of the funds raised go to the mission of the nonprofits.
An internationally sought-after fundraising strategist and mentor on topics ranging from Direct Mail to Fundraising to Regulation of Charities, Geoffrey Peters is known for his creative and insightful presentations to Boards of Directors, clients and conferences alike. He is nationally and internationally known for innovative, multi-channel, integrated fundraising through all channels and to all audiences including deferred giving, branding, and mid- and regular giving.
Peters has consulted or worked in fundraising in more than 25 countries longer than 40 years. He has a breadth of knowledge about developing new fundraising programs in multiple markets.
He was one of the founders of the Bridge to Integrated Marketing & Fundraising Conference and is co-founder of the Philanthropy & Fundraising North America group.
He currently works with Boards and senior management interested in transformative, integrated multi-channel fundraising strategies for major growth as well as nonprofit management, strategy, and long-range planning for organizations that are clients of Moore Group and its more than 40 constituent companies where he is responsible for innovative fundraising practices and channels, the neuromarketing laboratory and training the next generation of fundraisers.
